"What a Ride" To: you From: me

First of all, Merry Christmas! To you, your friends, your family and foes. This year has been a carnival ride with loose screws in its tracks for me, though, I never seemed to fully fall off the ride. I had been thrown through loops that broke my heart, and taken 90 degree dives that's kickstarted it.

I have seen my shadow. I have met my spirit. I have been transformed.

This Christmas, I wish the skins that no longer serve you, shed themselves into an opalescent curtain of the past. I wish that you allow your souls deepest joy to guide, and nourish you. You must know that your presence is the greatest present you have to offer. With that, I thank you for being a very important part of my Christmas this year.

I didn't know it at the time, but this song would heal me...

I began to write this song while cooking dinner one summer night in Montreal. I was home alone playing "Sing a new melody" with myself. It's this game where I come up with a random melody, and sing it until it dies out. Once it does, I challenge myself to come up with something totally different. I did this three times over, and when the fourth time came around I was open. My channel had been cleared, and warmed. The entire melody and most of the lyrics came to me right then and there. I have its original voice memo, perhaps I'll share that one day.

"What a Ride" truly expresses a part of who I am. I hope you enjoy getting to know me a little more than before.

Some day this new year, this song will be out there for all to hear, But for now, its just for us <3
